Much Calmer and Getting Cooler - wyomingnewsnow.tv

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - After the crazy weather across the state with snowfall and hurricane strength wind gusts, not to mention the severe storms and tornadoes from the same from out toward the eastern United State, today was much calmer and a little bit cooler. There were still snow showers in the far western regions in Wyoming in the higher elevations and mountain ranges. A little bit was also spotted in the central and southeastern mountains as well. Tomorrow, the same situation is expected to happen although with a higher chance of snow in some of the northern and central cities. Sheridan, Gillette, and Casper do have the chance to see some flurries during the day. Expect clouds to be moving in and out as well. Our snow chances are greater because temperatures are expected to be cooler tomorrow with most of the highs staying at or below freezing.

Temperature doesn’t mean much when we have a wind chill though. The Wyoming wind looks to be back in the forecast once again tomorrow. Luckily, gusts themselves are not expected to be as bad as what we saw on Wednesday. Most of the winds look to be affecting the central and southern regions of the state and maxing out at about 40 MPH. Other than isolated areas, I don’t expect to see road closures from the wind, but certainly some delays.

Overnight tonight, temperatures are dropping down to seasonable levels and the winds will begin picking up. Lows are ranging from the single digits and teens out to the west to the mid 20s to the east. Tomorrow, still expect some flurries and mostly cloudy skies in the aforementioned cities with highs at or below the freezing point. I suggest bringing a wind breaker as the wind chills are likely to get even lower.
