Start Day Set For Construction On Coral Ridge Drive Through Much Of Coral Springs - TAPinto.net

CORAL SPRINGS, FL – The start day for a new road construction project for much of Coral Ridge Drive through Coral Springs will be April 15.

The Florida Department of Transportation announced the start day on a social media post for the 4.8-mile project on Coral Ridge Drive from Southgate Boulevard to Wyndham Circle. The department had initially expected to start on March 16.

The project will widen the roadway for 6-foot bicycle lanes, construct sidewalks at existing gaps, and reconstruct sidewalk ramps, according to the department.

Improvements also include upgrading vehicle and pedestrian signals at West Atlantic Boulevard, Royal Palm Boulevard, and Wiles Road, modifying and relocating drainage structures, repairing bridge deck joints over the C-14 Canal, as well as milling and resurfacing, and adding pavement markings.

The project, which will cost an estimated $7.6 million, is expected to be completed by late 2022, according to the department.

The contractor is OHL North America.

As of late last week, there were no plans yet for closing traffic lanes or pedestrian sidewalks for construction.
