Periods of rain into Saturday night; dry Sunday in much of Minnesota - Minnesota Public Radio News

The Saturday afternoon high temperature at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport was 73 degrees. That’s well above our average Oct. 2 high of 66 in the Twin Cities. Some much-needed rain moved through the Twin Cities metro area Saturday afternoon, and parts of the metro area will see periods of rain Saturday evening.

Much of eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin will see periods of rain Saturday evening, with a few embedded thunderstorms also possible. Rain is expected to diminish in most areas later Saturday night.

You can hear updated weather information for Minnesota and western Wisconsin on the Minnesota Public Radio News network, and you can see updated weather info on the MPR News live weather blog.

Sunday rain chances?

Much of Minnesota will have dry weather during the daylight hours of Sunday. There’s a chance of scattered light rain showers on Sunday in northeastern Minnesota and parts of southeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

Keep in mind that all deciduous trees are included in the fall color report, not just maples. Wisconsin fall color info can be found here.

There are some pockets of very good fall color elsewhere, including portions of the Twin Cities metro area.

There’ll be very nice fall color in some spots along the Twin Cities Marathon route on Sunday!
