Snow Forecast For Charlotte Metro: Heres How Much You Can Expect - Charlotte, NC Patch

CHARLOTTE, NC — After a wet and warm winter, the Charlotte metro region will finally see snow today, according to forecasters. But how much?

A winter weather advisory is in effect for the greater Charlotte metro region from 10 a.m. Thursday until midnight, according to the National Weather Service.

According to government weather forecasters, our area is expected to get one to two inches of snow accumulation, although amounts will likely vary throughout the region. Charlotte is expected to see an inch or less, however, northern areas of the region, such as Iredell and Rowan counties, could see 2 inches or more.

Eastern North Carolina will see much more, with up to 4 to 6 inches of snow accumulation, NWS said.

"The precipitation will begin as rain, or as a mix of sleet, rain, and snow in many areas, but should steadily transition to snow throughout the day," NWS said in a winter weather advisory Thursday morning.
