We've all been there before.
You're in the Super Bowl's host city, going about your business when -- hours before kick-off -- you say to yourself, "You know what, I do want to go to the big game!"
OK, so very few of us have been there before, and it's likely even fewer of us would be there for Super Bowl LIV on Sunday when the 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs play, considering who actually attends a Super Bowl in a given year. But let's say you, dear reader, are in Miami Gardens, Fla. and looking for last-minute tickets before the last game of the 2019 NFL season.
You better have at least $5,000 lying around, then. About 90 minutes before game time, upper-bowl re-sale tickets on Stubhub cost $5,270. You could get $500 off by entering a promotional code, but something tells me $500 wouldn't make a lot of difference to someone willing to drop $5,270 on a single ticket. On TicketIQ, the cheapest per-ticket cost -- again in the upper bowl -- was $7,720.

Tickets on the secondary market were priced higher than just about any Super Bowl in the previous decade, according to data compiled by TicketIQ. As of Friday, Super Bowl LIV tickets were listed on the secondary market, on average, for a shade over $9,000. The highest average was $9,723 in 2015, and the lowest was $2,329 in 2010.
The 49ers and Chiefs would end Super Bowl droughts of 25 and 50 years, respectively, if they win Sunday. If seeing your team win a title in person is worth (at least) $5,000 to you or you think that's how much a banana costs, you're one of the few people in line for a bargain Sunday.
