Tuesday's storms drop much-needed rain in Minnesota - KSTP

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), rainfall totaled about 1 inch in the Twin Cities area. The highest automated gauge report came from near Cannon Falls at over 3 inches, according to the NWS.

"The entire state is still in a severe to extreme drought, so every little bit helps," Barlow stated in his Wednesday forecast.

Looking ahead, Barlow said more rain and thunderstorms are possible on Thursday. The best chances for heavy rain, Barlow said, will be Thursday night into Friday morning.

As a result, Barlow said parts of the state will see another inch or so of rain by Friday afternoon.
