While some areas of Connecticut received nearly 3 inches of rain Tuesday, towns with the worst drought conditions had much lower rainfall totals.

With 1.46 inches, Stamford had the most rain along the shoreline; Stonington had the least with 0.11 of an inch.
While Tuesday’s rain was beneficial, the state’s rainfall for the year remains well below average.
According to the Northeast Regional Climate Center, Windsor Locks is nearly 12 inches below normal. Danbury is nearly 9 inches and New Haven nearly 11 inches below average for the year.
The National Weather Service says there is a chance of more rain Thursday night into Friday, followed by cool, dry weather for the weekend.
