A round of thunderstorms blew through Sheboygan County and much of Southern Wisconsin overnight, producing some damaging winds but at the same time, some much needed rain.
Scattered reports of downed trees were received by the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, and a few power outages were indicated by We Energies. A wind gust of 54 MPH was recorded by an automated weather station on Sheboygan’s north lighthouse at around 3:45 AM.
While the winds weren’t welcome, the rains were as Sheboygan County was listed in a Moderate Drought on Thursday. Officially, the Sheboygan County Airport received just under an inch of rain (.85”) from the storms. Radar estimates from the National Weather Service showed at least an inch of rain across the county, most getting closer to 2 inches, and even some 4-inch reports west of Plymouth.
