CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Did we learn much about the Browns on Sunday in their 10-7 win over the Texans?
Well, we learned they really missed Nick Chubb, but we kind of knew that.
We learned Chubb and Kareem Hunt are best as a tandem, but we knew that, too.
We learned Myles Garrett is worthy of Defensive Player of the Year consideration -- which we already knew.
None of this is a bad thing. It means the Browns were just a better football team than the Texans on Sunday, which we all kind of knew. The Texans are 2-6 and have 73-year-old Romeo Crennel as their interim head coach. The Browns are 6-3 after this win and right in the thick of the AFC playoff picture.
The biggest lesson we probably learned was how the Browns dealt with adversity. They battled less-than-ideal conditions for the second week in a row. They had a player test positive for COVID-19 and had their final practice day disrupted. On a smaller scale, they even overcame Donovan Peoples-Jones practically handing the game to the Texans when he was unable to field the kickoff after the Texans scored their lone touchdown.
So there might not be many longterm lessons to carry from this game -- at least not new ones -- but it’s OK. The Browns took care of business on Sunday.
