You didn’t put your galoshes away yet, did you?
You’ll need them again this week.
The National Weather Service is forecasting another wet week for much of Alabama, with some areas seeing up to a half-foot of rain through Thursday.
That forecast is again raising concerns about flooding -- both river flooding and urban flooding -- on the heels of a very soggy February for some parts of the state.
The National Weather Service thinks central Alabama could be the target zone for the heaviest rain this week, though it has shifted southward a bit since Sunday morning.
A wide swath of that region, including Montgomery, Troy, Demopolis, Troy, Auburn, Clanton, Alexander City and Selma, among other places, could potentially see up to 6 inches through Thursday.
However, it appears that no section of the state will avoid the rain this time around, with 1-inch totals possible statewide, according to the weather service.
The rain could come in several rounds thanks to a front that is expected to stall across the state.
It’s still not certain where that front will stall out, and that will determine who gets the most rain.
The weather service will also be monitoring the potential for strong to severe storms as well. Some will be possible Monday in north Alabama:
More storms will be possible on Tuesday mainly in southwest Alabama away from the coast.
As of Sunday afternoon severe weather wasn’t expected in the rest of the state this week.
The same can’t be said for heavy rain and potential flooding.
Showers could begin in north and north-central Alabama by late tonight and spread south and eastward on Monday.
Wednesday could feature the heaviest rain, according to the weather service.
Alabama will get a chance to dry out starting on Friday, and cooler and drier weather could last into the weekend.
